Founded in
1979, Hemas Travels began at the time when
Sri Lanka outbound travel was just
expanding. Today, we are one of Sri Lanka’s
largest and established IATA accredited
travel service providers, with our Head
office at Hemas House, Braybrooke Place,
Colombo 2.and a team of more than 60 travel
specialists and a fast growing global
network of agents.
From its early beginnings issuing mainly air
tickets in the 80's, to support the regional
travel requirements of the tourism
customers, Hemas Travels expanded its
services to the Local clientele. It achieved
IATA accreditation in 1982. With our
customer centric approach, the turnovers
increased significantly, enabling the
company to achieve the Consolidator status
of most of the leading airlines. This
enabled the company to give a better value
for money offering, through the enhanced
influence on the Airline community. Hemas
Travels was the first Travel Company in Sri
Lanka to be linked up with the Global
Airline Distribution systems, thus enabling
the company to have real time access to
Airline and Hotel Inventory and other
products to enhance Service Delivery.
Hemas Travels launched its B2C Internet
travel website, offering a greater selection
of online tour package bookings, hotel
reservations, and real time air ticket
bookings. We intend developing
www.hemastravels.com
to be the leading online travel
website in Sri Lanka.
 Prime
Destinations was developed in 1990 to
develop the leisure travel segment, with the
pioneering effort of introducing exclusive
Packaged Holiday Experiences such as African
Safari’s and tours to China and Egypt. This
portfolio has been broadened extensively,
and now offers an array of tour packages
with the popular Globus Family of Brands and
cruises with Royal Caribbean International.
Prime Destinations also holds the status of
Preferred Sales Agent for GTA (Gullivers
Travel Associates) which is one of the
world's leading wholesalers of hotels,
ground products and services to the travel
industry. In addition to this exclusive
product portfolio, it also has its own
product line which extends to various
regions of the world and provides lifestyle
services which include retail and corporate
ticketing, outbound tours, corporate
incentive packages as well as hotel and
resort accommodation.
Hemas Travels also represents Hogg Robinson
Group’s (HRG) Corporate Travel Management
division in Sri Lanka. HRG is an
international Corporate Solutions Company
which has a history of 160 years for
specializing in the Business Travel Market.
It is now able to offer a vast range of
products and services such as world wide 24
hour travel reservation service, Technology
solutions, value added products such as
traveler assist, a global hotel programme
and on- site consulting for travel
Management.
